Registration for Summer “Writing Courses: Provincial Exam Preperation” is now open

May 15, 2014 by ESBlogger

Registration is now open to students wishing to improve their essay writing over the summer, or those who wish to start preparing for the English Provincial Exam.  The summer course will run every Monday and Wednesday for 2 hours and will focus specifically on the specialized writing skills provincial exam markers are looking for in the 6/6 paragraph, comparison essay and original composition.

Knowing the specific themes that run through the Provincial Exams will give students an enormous advantage; they will have a variety of thematic concepts to draw from that they can apply to their writing.  Please note that this is a highly rigorous course intended for ambitious students who are self motivated and can handle the work load.

Register early for Fall 2013

June 5, 2013 by ESBlogger

Registration for Fall 2013 will begin in August for current students and those on the waiting list.  I will be notifying everyone in August of the specific date.  Please register early to avoid disappointment; classes are limited and they fill up very quickly. In September, registration will be open to everyone.

I will also be posting the Fall class date/time on the web site prior to registration so everyone has a chance to work out their schedule before they make a commitment.  The class information will be posted in July.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I look forward to another amazing year of continued academic excellence.

“After attending the English Scholar Writing Centre for just a short while, my daughter has made remarkable improvements in her writing. Although she constantly had trouble with clarity in the past, she now writes insightful and precise essays. I am so impressed when I read her work and I am so proud that she is currently getting 94% in her English class. Her improvement is astounding.” ~Hyunae Cho, Mother of Grade 10 student

KUDOS TO US

“Nelli not only teaches you how to write, but she also knows how to analyze and connect with literary pieces. I was in ESL in grade 9, but, after attending Nelli’s class, I was moved into regular English class and received 95% in English 12. During grade 12, my essays were always selected as exemplars, which my teacher photocopied to students so they could see what techniques I used. Nelli goes over all types of literature, from articles to novels, and that prepared me well for the Provincial Exam on which I got 91%. The skills I learned from Nelli are definitely helping me write papers later on in my studies.”

~Jennifer Seo Bin Park, 2012 Pinetree Secondary Graduate, McGill University- Life Science and BioMed Program
